build little brains
Moxietot was created by child development researchers who had some babies of their own and got all bent out of shape about the status quo. How were we letting child development knowledge get stuck in academic journals? We were gettin' played, that's how. Why does it take 17 years to get the research-based stuff to the people who can use it? That ain't right. We know what parents can say and do with their babies to promote early language. We know how grown-ups can interact with toddlers to boost cognitive development. We know how to optimize shared reading time to strengthen early literacy skills. So we're doing something about it.
Moxietot learning gear encourages parents, grandparents, family, friends, neighbors, babysitters, daycare staff, and teachers to engage more with babies and young children. We share ways to enhance talk time so playtime can be even more powerful! Little brains crave social interaction. They thrive when they get a ton of warm and rich serve-and-return interactions. Moxietot is working hard for blooming little brains everywhere by helping grown-ups rally together as brain-building teams for the children they love. We make smart clothes that are all about your child - not some TV show character! When a kid wears a Marvel shirt they hear things all day like, "Oh, I see you have Spider-Man on your shirt. Spider-Man is cool." That doesn't do a whole lot for your kid's brain. With Moxietot, all of those unproductive interactions are flipped into brain-boosting and character-building opportunities. Instead of talking about how great Spider-Man is, we make the conversation about your kid - and their individual awesomeness!
Our baby line emphasizes warm and responsive interactions, language and cognitive development, and social-emotional learning. We're expanding our toddler and early childhood line which builds on these domains and highlights executive functioning, literacy development, and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics). On the front of our toddler tees, a strength is highlighted - like "hard worker" which helps build a growth mindset. On the back of the tee are simple, research-based things grown-ups can say to help promote child development. We dig into, study, interpret, and share the latest research insights from education, psychology, neuroscience, behavioral science, and child development. We turn all of the researchy gobbledegook into quick and easy peasy tips for grown-ups. Grown-ups like you who are joining the brain-builder movement!
Moxietot shares
We have established community partnerships to share Moxietot learning gear with children living in low-income neighborhoods. We have also heard from a lot of our brain-builder customers that they want to give their retired Moxietot onesies and tees to specific organizations whose missions they support. If you want help figuring out how to give back, please contact us. We're so glad you want to spread the word with us! We're happy to help!
